Herpes - The Most Significant Symptom.
There are many different types or variants of herpes and they all generate some type of eruption or herpes outbreak of sores or lesions.
Two herpes family strains are paramount. The strain that will affect the upper body (above the waistline) is herpes simplex virus 1 or HSV 1. This virus causes mainly oral herpes.
Spreading Genital Herpes
The other dominant strain of the herpes family is the herpes simplex 2 virus which is known as as HSV 2. It is this herpes family member that and affects the genitalia as well as the buttocks and lower back. We will be talking about the type of outbreaks this virus causes in greater detail a little further on.
Herpes simplex 1 is the mildest form of the herpes virus. The traditional lesions are cold sores, or fever blisters, that are found contagious and there is no cure. The way to pass this disease is by the contact with the lesions. This virus can also cause genital herpes, but it is generally located around the mouth.
The blisters or sores that sometimes appear in and around the mouth when one is getting a cold or flu are typical of HSV 1. This is referred to as oral herpes.
Herpes simplex 2 is the most commonly talked about form of herpes. HSV 2 is passed through some form of sexual intercourse. The lesions that occur from this strain are similar to cold sores; The herpes virus that causes genital herpes is the virus that raises most concern. It causes lesions and blisters on the genitalia and surrounding pubic areas including the buttocks and the anus.
Genital herpes (the blisters) in males will breakthrough on the shaft of the penis, the anus, the buttocks and even on the inner thighs and lower back. Females will see the blisters appearing over the whole of the pubic area, including the anus and buttocks. Sometimes the eruption is that mild that a torch or flashlight is used during the examination.
The vesicles that occur when you have an outbreak of herpes simplex 2 can resemble a paper cut, simply look chafed or appear only slightly more red than usual. Experiencing aches and pains in the affected area could occur as well as a secretiondischarge from the penis or vagina.
It is common for the first herpes outbreaks to be far more acute and they often are preceded by feelings of fever and glands that are swollen. Subsequent outbreaks are normally never as harsh as that first outbreak and can occur 6 to 8 times a year, depending on your health. If you are suffering from stress this will almost always trigger an outbreak as will a lweakened immune system. Depression can lengthen the period of your herpes outbreaks.
